McDonald’s Makes Big Announcement

Did you hear the news? There’s been a major shakeup in the fast food industry. On Thursday, McDonald’s announced its plans to remove all artificial ingredients from its top-selling burgers. 

This doesn’t mean you should drop that home-cooked meal and head to the nearest drive-through lane, but it does show that the movement we’ve been building over the last decade is working. When a huge multinational corporation like McDonald’s starts paying attention, it means we’re moving in the right direction.

So what ingredients are on the outs? McDonald’s says it’s doing a complete burger makeover, removing artificial colors, flavors and preservative ingredients, like calcium propionate and sorbic acid, from its buns and cheeses.
